Hip-Hop | Childish Gambino – We Ain’t Them
Posted by dshaq on May 16, 2012

After embarking on a twitter rant for the record books, Donald Glover graced us with the link to a new track in between defending himself from internet nobodies. It frustrates me seeing how this guy is treated(and tweeted). People need to accept Childish Gambino for what he is. He’s a comedian, who can make a damn good beat, and kills it every time. His talents are un matched in the music game right now, and also has the ability to produce, act, all the while getting laughs, and hate. This hate has made him who he is, if he didn’t get hated on, he would probably run out of material, being that most of his songs are reflective of his past. Without further adieu, I’ll let you dissect Gambino’s newest track, We Ain’t Them. And haters, try this, stop having a preconcieved notion in your head of what a rapper is SUPPOSED to be, and just try and enjoy the damn music.
Mashups | Buck – Dirty Leto
Posted by Mach on May 16, 2012
After Buck’s introduction a week ago, he has dropped another sick mashup. ‘Dirty Leto’ is a blend of Archie’s ‘Leto’ instrumental with vocals from ‘Cinema,’ ‘Dirty Talk,’ ‘What Happens In Vegas,’ and ‘Ass Back Home.’ This track really needed some vocals. Going to be honest I was a little nervous when I saw how many different vocals were used, but after listening I realized that this is a top notch mash. Get to know Buck, this wont be last time I believe that we will see him.
Vocals
Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go – Cinema
Wynter Gordon – Dirty Talk
Chuckie – What Happens In Vegas
Gym Class Heroes feat. Neon Hitch – Ass Back Home
Progressive House | Natalie Gauci, New York FM – Everytime
Posted by Rohan on May 16, 2012
Here’s another two Progressive House bangers for those who use Beatport (expensive, I know, but this where things are headed). New York FM throws down an incredible beat while Natalie Gauci lays some perfect vocals over this smooth, yet encompassing progressive beat. The Disfunktion Remix highlights the high synths and is more suited for a festival (whereas the original would be perfect for clubbing). The BEATPORT VERSION also features a radio edit of each.

Progressive House | Zero9 – Fire It Up
Posted by Rohan on May 16, 2012

Featured on Peak Hour Music (the label which just put out Porter Robinson’s “I’m On Fire”), Zero9 kills his latest EP “Fire It Up” with two massive Progressive House anthems. The first, named after the EP, features multiple synth build ups, then descends into a DOPE House drop at 1:48. The second, “Are U Ready?”, is also great, with a dope Complextro (a new sub-genre of EDM which utilizes elements of Electro House, Progressive House and Dubstep) beat, and has multiple incredible drops (check the first 50 seconds in). Grab the release on BEATPORT.
Bootleg, Progressive House | Alesso – Years (Jakob Liedholm’s Open Your Eyes Edit)
Posted by Spice on May 16, 2012
When it comes to electronic music, is there anything the Swedes can’t do? Jakob Liedholm is a 15 year-old Swedish producer whom we previously featured for his big room-ready adaptation of “Some Nights” by indie band Fun. Now, he takes Alesso’s progressive house monster “Years” and deftly ties in the vocals from “Eyes Wide Open” by Thomas Gold and Dirty South. The result? An epic, uplifting jam to get you in the right mindset for EDC this weekend (fun fact: Alesso, Dirty South, and Thomas Gold will all be there!)
If Mr. Liedholm’s past work is any indication, we can definitely expect to see big things down the road. Keep an eye on this young Swede; I’ve got a feeling he won’t disappoint.
Hip-Hop, Indie | The Knocks – All We Got (Brenton Duvall Remix ft. One Room & Kardinal Offishall)
Posted by dshaq on May 16, 2012

Brenton Duvall unleashes this remix featuring the Knocks, One Room, and Kardinal Offishall. Tinkering with the beat, Brenton mixes “The amazing rap/singing/magic/production group One Room, aka Samuel & Chris P”, words from the man himself, and Kardinal Offishall. With finals either done or approaching, this song is perfect for unwinding from some stress and relaxing to. Salute Brenton and this new track by hitting him up on his Facebook and Twitter below, and yes he is verified.
